Why Account Mapping Matters
Account mapping tells LodgeKit where to post invoices and payments in your Xero chart of accounts. Correct mapping means your Xero reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, GST) are accurate without manual adjustments.
Revenue Accounts
Map your accommodation revenue to a Xero Sales account. If you track different revenue streams separately (e.g. accommodation vs. amenity fees), create separate Xero accounts and map them individually in LodgeKit.
Bank & Payment Accounts
Map each payment method to a Xero bank account. Card payments (Stripe) should map to your Stripe clearing account. Cash and bank transfers map to your primary business account. This ensures bank reconciliation in Xero is straightforward.
Tax Rate Mapping
LodgeKit supports multiple tax rates. Map your default tax rate (e.g. GST 10% for Australian businesses) and any zero-rated or exempt categories. The tax rate is applied to invoice line items when syncing to Xero.
Testing Your Mapping
After configuring mapping, create a test invoice in LodgeKit and check it appears correctly in Xero. Verify the account, tax rate, and amounts match. Make adjustments if needed before processing real transactions.
