Booking Lifecycle

A booking in LodgeKit follows a clear lifecycle: Confirmed (reserved) → Checked In (guest has arrived) → Checked Out (stay complete). You can also cancel a booking at any stage. Each transition is logged in the audit trail.

Creating a Booking

Go to Dashboard > Bookings and click New Booking. Select an existing guest or create a new one inline. Choose a room (only available rooms for your dates are shown), set check-in and check-out dates, and add any notes. Click Confirm to save.

Managing Active Bookings

From the bookings list, click any booking to see its full details — guest info, room assignment, dates, charges, and invoices. Use the action buttons to check in, check out, or cancel. You can also modify dates or reassign rooms before check-in.

Adding Extra Charges

Need to add a cleaning fee, damage deposit, or extra service? Open the booking and click Add Charge. Enter the description, amount, and whether it's taxable. The charge is automatically added to the next invoice.

Booking History & Audit Trail

Every action on a booking is recorded — creation, status changes, room reassignments, and charge additions. View the full audit trail from the booking detail page. This is invaluable for dispute resolution and compliance.
